Nel periodo non collegato con la nostra sala stampa, la nostra compagine di maggior caratura ovvero l’under 14 ha disputato ben 4 partite in questo giugno infuocato che ci ha visto sconfiggere sul campo la Virtus Ozzano e gli Athletics, perdere purtroppo contro l’altra compagine iscritta del San Lazzaro e perdere, ma vincere a tavolino contro la Fortitudo che schierava nel ruolo di lanciatore un ragazzo troppo grande per la categoria. Primi tre inning sull’orlo dell’equilibrio contro la Virtus dove i lanciatori hanno fatto da padroni, ma sul cambio dei due partenti, il rilievo minerbiese si è rivelato più incisivo nel fermare le mazze avversario, mentre i nostri ragazzi hanno colpito bene e portato a casa una bella vittoria. Esatto opposto invece nella partita con la Fortitudo che ha visto in nostri ragazzi faticare all’inizio contro il loro lanciatore fuori quota, ma reagire bene cercando di recuperare la partita appena il livello del lancio avversario si è uniformato alla categoria di appartenenza. Altra bella vittoria, ultima in ordine cronologico, contro gli Athletics che dopo essere partiti in svantaggio complici qualche errore difensivo di troppo e una giornata non felice del nostro partente, ha visto i nostri ragazzi iniziare a infilare delle belle e potenti battute che hanno consentito di ribaltare il risultato a nostro favore. Nell’analizzare, invece, quella che al momento è la nostra unica sconfitta in questa categoria mi focalizzerie sul fatto che è stato una bellissima partita di baseball. Forse l’unica vera partita di baseball, vista e disputata quest’anno dove ha vinto sicuramente la squadra meglio messa in campo, ma dove la squadra sconfitta è venuta fuori a testa alta. Si è vista proprio quella partita dove “vinca il migliore” è lo slogan più azzeccato e non dove chi ha sbagliato meno.
